Hello Ghost 赞!

watch this few months back, my brother recommended me this movie..and i asked if it's a ghost haunted movie.. hahaa... he said it's a comedy....

45 mins into the movie, i thought, hmmm another good acting from Cha Tae-Hyun, seems alright. pace of movie was slow and slightly heavy for a Saturday afternoon. story line looks normal, a guy fails to commit suicide and end up seeing ghost. he end up helping the 4 ghosts, to fulfill their dream so that they can leave him alone.

Towards the ending... it's where i can't control my tears... starts to pour like a running tap... it is another awesome movie by Cha Tae-Hyun and kudos to the script writer creating such a unexpected twist at the end which is so so heart breaking and sad... makes me 泪流满面。

How to Train My Dragon

I simply loved this movie, it's been so long since i watched movies that are worth watching. Stunning visuals and well-told story to keep my eye wide open through this movie. this is actually one of the best work from dreamworks!!

the black, cute little dragon was named "toothless", reminds me of my cousin call me "bo gay" when i was little and i lost one of my front tooth... ;(

Monday Blue? not really.... with yoga and popcorn

yesterday after our sunday mahjong session, mj kakis keep saying want to go movie lah, want to go eat after work lah... i told them i got yoga lesson maybe after that bah... to my surprise they wanted to join me at hot yoga... lol... so i quickly booked 3 slots for them haha...

therefore today, i was really looking forward to see them at yoga lesson... haha.. so funny... they really came for the 1 week free trial. All of them admit it was really sweating like mad and hot in there... we left the yoga place after the 1 hr hot yoga and head to watch alice in wonderland at kallang. Things are getting interesting, XXX was like a dead shopping center during weekday, so we bought our tickets without discount and head towards the popcorn counter. KL was saying let's get a salted and sweet popcorn each, as he was pretty loud the staff heard him. At that moment, the staff was getting ready to throw the leftover popcorn into the garbage bag. KL and JX being the super thick-skinned kind, keep psycho-ing the staff.

"how about we throw away the popcorn for you"...
"Anyway since you're throwing why dun give it to us free"...
"how bout we pay for 2 drinks and get the popcorn for free"...

in the end, the staff was really kind to give us 2 free popcorn. And, being the typical singaporean. After we got our freebies, JX super cheeky and asked how about the 2 boxes of nachos behind, you gonna throw it right? i dun think he really wants the nachos, he just trying to be funny. Crazy ah, how to finish 2 big popcorn, wah lau eh still want nachos!!!

In the end, we got our popcorn and watch the movie. After all the hard work we put in at yoga, all of us were really hungry after the movie. We went to geylang G7 to eat frog leg porridge... i guess that's why i hardly lose weight after all these yoga session.

So fun tonight, it's been awhile since the 4 of us got together and play till so late on Monday night. and, this year we still need to organise another alumni chalet session for MJ tournament... Let's do it again!

Okuribito - the gift of last memories

Just watched departures aka okuribito, i've heard some good review on the movie. And finally, got a weekend break to watch this long overdue movie. an Asian movie filled with death and corpse but it's not horror flick :)

He sold his cello and ended his musical career, going back to his old hometown hope to carve out a niche for himself. By responding to a job ad which misprint as a travel job, he got hired as an embalmer by accident. We do know such profession, but we have negative thought to it. this film brings the profession out in such gracefulness. They handle such a unusual topic with such reserved and beautiful manner.

there's a part of the story that mentioned about giving a stone to represent your feeling. :) haha I once received a little round stone from a friend. he pick up while he went hiking for awhile. Nothing valuable, but it touches my heart. At that point, i dun think his intention was to represent his feeling. It's just something he stumble upon while trekking and thought it's rather cute in that treacherous forest. How funny it's to find similar movie element in your daily life...

Btw, quite surprise to find Ryoko Hirosue 広末涼子 in this movie. i like her in beach boys... summmer snow.. shotgun marriage... awwwww..

Joseph Gordon-Levitt on 500 days of summer

seldom will i appreciate such movies... those kind that i think it's too artistic that i immediately switch off....but i like this movie, shot in a very clever way, featuring romantic in a different light.
featuring nice soundtracks and 60s trends...sibey vintage...

Tom is a romantic who believes in true love...

Hahaaa... hmmm.... does true love exists? and when will i meet my next summer?

and, i've got to admit, i love cute boy... tom is cute... awwww..

再见吧~ 午夜 与 宅女

I'm going to change my lifestyle from now on... hohohooh... no more sleeping late and no more staying up to watch random drama and series!!!

Dunno why just feels like my body is aging faster than my age... used to have an active lifestyle and feels better. Ever since i started working, whenever there's a break on weekend i will be a 宅女, stay at home the whole day to complete some drama series. I came upon on a blog from my fellow colleague, wearewonderwomen.com. This very brave girl blog about fighting cancer although she lost her battle in the end. I really admire her for her bravery and her attitude towards life.

We are living in the world of advanced medical and more and more incurable disease... people have longer lifespan at the same time prone to more lifestyle disease. Right now right here, i just want to keep myself healthy and thinking positive everyday... not to stress myself at work, not to tired myself at home... Keep breathing and living right, i hope it's not too late for a right change.

last night i watched my last late night movie - surrogates... more and more movies like to feature how mankind in the future will evolve into relying on machine/robots. How virtual we can get, how safer and comfort the world can be living with robots. Only to find out that someone, somewhere will screw up and start the killing spree. Latter, everyone realise how we're being control by the machine and they are now on our own - standing on their feet.

I don't really believe that human will tap on machine like in surrogates, we're too egotistic bastard that wants to be in control of everything. We would love robots to ease our daily life chores but not overrule our life. :) just my thoughts.. it might even be ironic that i'm typing on a computer... hello world!

monster vs alien vs predator

watch monster vs alien 3D at cathay yesterday, better quality glasses than the 4D show that i've watched. But still glasses don't fit and eyes got tired 30 minutes into the movie.

i still prefer those disney and movie world 4D show, short and entertaining. don't really like M vs A movie, haha should have follow my own instinct. :)

Nowadays after every rla's birthday we'll catch a movie, i fell asleep in fast and furious although i did try my best to stay awake (chair was uncomfortable to sleep on). I won the tickets to the movie premier to catch mathew mcconaughey and jennifer garner, and we missed the first half of the show but still able to follow the movie (typical male charmer who's scare to fall in love/commitment) it's those kind of typical lomantic comedy that make you cry in tears and the next moment smiling and laughing. exactly what i will like = chic flick ;)
Connor Mead: Someone once told me that the power in all relationships lies with whoever cares less, and he was right. (moi think so too and i strikeout the rest.. hohohoo) But power isn't happiness, and I think that maybe happiness comes from caring more about people rather than less...
Night at the museum 2 was kind of dissappointment for me, storyline and plot so-so. the idea was fresh in the first movie, part 2 seems lack of originality and just another continuation of the part 1. hmmmm..
Monster vs Alien - 2.5/5.0
Fast and Furious - ??/5.0
i slept through the whole movie
Ghost of girlfriends past - 3.5/5.0
give it a little more pts to be able to win 2 drops of my tears :)

Finally... i got my erhem...*shy*

Whoa... can't hold it any minute... the moment i reached home.. i unwrap/tear open the "device"...
helpful haohao bought for me at the braun warehouse sale!!! considered cheap compare to those selling on the market...

when i first power it on.. the device's sounds scare me off!! it looks very scary to use it at first sight!! i might ripped off my whole hands sia... oh my god.. couldn't figure out what the rest of the parts are for.. wahaaa.. can't be bothered also... it come with 2 cooling pack, great can use it for fever next time!!

I want to shout to all girls.. "please get one tooo!!!" it's so convienient, painless and "fun"???!!! it's addictive too~~ bet i will use it everyday.. *siao* i got myself an epilator.. hurhur.. i being thinking about it since i saw it on magazine. and, the night before i was at mustafa looking at it, had a strong urge to buy it. Lucky haohao stopped me... hehe..

i watched a lot of movies over the weekend..

Confession of a shopaholic - 3.5/5.0
Shinjuku incident - 3.0/5.0
Detroit Metal City - 3.5/5.0
Handsome suit - 4.5/5.0

a typical shopaholic movie, i find it kind of predictable. Shinjuku, oh my god.. they keep chopping people hands.... bloody effect... er.. quite scary... DMC, it's a hilarious japanese movie by the actor "L" from death note, i couldn't recognise him in the movie.. his mushroom hair and colourful tight jean totally not "L". Funny shit.

Handsome suit is another great movie to catch, genuine, light hearted featuring an ugly man who transformed into a gorgeous dude by wearing a white, plastic, cartoon mascot.. society loves the handsome him and detest the ugly him.. hard to believe, but it's true in this world.. people do judge a book by its cover, even though the movie had a happy ending which it's unlikely in this real world... *sad*

the song revolution is the official soundtrack, it's very pleasing to the ear although it's quite an old tune. check out my music widget... haha

Life isn't measured in minutes, but in moments

Moi watched The curious case of Benjamin button last night... This movie surprised me, i'm not those who can take slow still plot. I'll fall asleep and lost my interest. In this case, i enjoyed the movie, totally awe-some.

"Life isn't measured in minutes, but in moments" a quote for the movie, Bb tells an epic love story about a guy that starts aging backwards. I was waiting for them to be together at their perfect age :) i feel sad for him to age backwards, eventhough he experiences life in a totally different light, but he can't grow old normally, watch his kids grow up and be with his love ones, kind of depressed to watch that happened. everytime i look at pitt's eyes (wooo i love), seems to feel his quietness, sadness. Different and full of emo thoughts.

hmmm..

Red Cliff 2 aka cibi 2

Just came home from the movie "Red Cliff 2", i'm like those teenage girl out there who will go wooo and waaaaa over tony leung and takeshi kaneshiro. i simply adore them...

takeshi.. he's like a person with multiple personalities i meant not in a bad way, every movies he starred in he's like the character totally - dark, comical, solemn or cool. He once act as a death god in a jap movie, i forgot the title :P . Personally, i prefer tony in infernal affair. The goody undercover-policeman. they practically suck in the soul of the character in the movie.

zhu ge liang and zhou yu... hmmm.. i like... :D
In my own opinion, Lin zhilin is like a "hua ping" in the movie.. haha.. with scene showing her beauty in tea art.

counting down to days without mj

this weekend no mahjong for me.... jx in camp, so i spent my friday night chilling out in brussel sprout. Wonder what's in their beer that makes me drowsy and sleepy.

celebrated yihui's birthday on Saturday at Sushi tei at paragon, when from orchard to bugis sungei road to mustafa center. :) practically running around looking for an indian pot and big rice cooker. was a nice lazy breezy saturday. i don't mind running around singapore and walking to places that i dun even go... like sungei road, that was an interesting trip. these people are selling everything they can find in the dump. but there's some unique old ornaments store, they rest were just rubbish i thought.

sunday nearly go sentosa for a sunny tan, unfortunately, ah fang got a swollen lips.. =..=" i wonder what happen the night before. ;P so spend the rest of the afternoon snoring and watching zohan.. crappy and fun i would say.
later that night we went to catch at show at jurong point, butterfly lover, don't ask me why. that the only movie at that time slot, so i thought as least i could admire wu zhun in the movie. dissapointed by the movie as to compare to the previous version by charlie yeung. the story was too segmented and hard to grab viewers' emotions. :D

Zohan 3.0/5.0
Butterfly lover 2.0/5.0

Wall.e and crystal jade dine in at vivo

yesterday, we had a $$$ dinner at the crystal jade dine in at vivocity. all thanks to da xiong, we only had 30 mins left for dinner and movie at 8.30pm. da xiong still can stroll to us with a smile on his face "hey i got $30 voucher for crystal jade...",

"you sure we got enough time to eat"..
"half an hour left only le"..

and you know what, 4 of us ended up sitting in the restaurant waiting for food to be served. The ambient was pretty over looking the sea view to sentosa and we're like no time for such scenic stuff. Just wanting to tell the staff to give us our food QUICK!!!..

we just order 2 plate of noodles and 1 fried rice, 1 side dish tofu for sharing. For the amount that we paid, we could have gotten more food and variety from the holland v branch. As usual, da xiong behaviour-> just wack... food is good don't get me wrong, just that wrong timing and wrong day to do so.

We managed just in time to catch wall.e, hmmm might just missed the opening by a few minutes. hehee.. overall think that it's a okay show, some parts are witty. it's that kind of movies that is very positive and after the show, there's hardly things that you can really talk about, maybe only murmuring wallllleeeee~~~~~~ thru the night.
