Dave & Connor, Win the Amazing Race Pleasssseeeee!!

remember the dad and son cancer survivor team i supported in season 23... :) they are back in all star season, can't get enough of them, they are in their winning spree for the past week, coming first last week and this week!! really hope they win amazing race, amazing race won by amazing people :D

deadliest catch is back for the 10th season yeahhhhh, i still remembering my favorite captain phil :,( i wish he's still around driving cornelia-marie.. miss him so much... recently i took up ppcdl course not that i will get to run a crab boat in anchorage... i wish haaaa! I want to know how it feels like behind the wheel house, like those captain.... Well well, although last saturday i was only driving a small craft don't really have a wheel house....人因梦想而伟大嘛....wahaaaa...overall that day i was pretty good at doing "man-over-board" rescue haaa...i didnt really revise my note due to mad rush at work last week & i felt bad about it. :( But, i had a great boating experience with major tan! wish we could have know him earlier in our poly life, it would have made a whole lot of difference to our rover troop. But we can't be too greedy k, he's a busy man and still willing to fork out his precious saturday and sunday for us... thank you thank you!~

彬彬 jia you~

Amazing race went Kinabalu!!!

Haaaa... My fav reality tv show calling... to Mt kinabalu!! Recent episode they flew from Msia to Sabah and did water rafting with bamboo.. Don't think they have time to go to the summit.. Heeee... Envy~~ why fly past Singapore and didn't stop by for a clue box :(

last Sunday I had my first power boat theory lesson with major tan aka "tiger" he is one of the pioneer that formed sp rovers, he shared a lot of inspiring stories of him being a president scout, in navy mine demolition, in navy commanding big big ship,he topped the class when being sent to Germany for submarine training.. Involving himself in Singapore river, marina barrage dam... Etc etc... His achievement list can go on and on... & he is a scout!!! His lesson were very engaging and I didn't doze off at all!! Look forward to the practical lesson next month... I Haven't been actively involved in scouting movement since poly days, but I do remembered my first jamboree in sarimbun camp 真的让我大开眼界。my poly days were really memorable and I m proud I say "i am scout"..though I can't fit in my scout uniform anymore..heeee... Major tan is giving back to the society passing his knowledge to the young scouts... 好伟大啊。 我也想,可是我没什么好give back的,can I pass down my silly laughter and my passion in singing campfire songs!! I'm love to set fire loh.... Haaa... And 伸出援手... Becos of rovers I didn't regret going to poly...so I also hope the current young ones do enjoy as much as I do when they 还年轻... Have a sense of belonging...

tomorrow going to help wk with rovers SRIC, 希望 the event goes smoothly. But still i find that SRIC is the first event introduce to freshman is a little "dry". Let's hope that the alumni can help to fire up the rovering spirits in the young ones and current rovers will slowly... one step at a time walk towards a better tomorrow, eventually a stronger and significant club in sp and able to help other in need...sad to see so little people during the kayaking trip... Rovers is like a second home to me during my poly days, knowing friends for life and makes me more outgoing and kind of shape me to i m now (into becoming round shape... hahahhaaa)...

其实我是个很内向的人-- 可是没人相信! 哈哈... those friends that i get to know in rovers, they makes my world go upside down (well, in a good way i guess)

我以为沉静而又一成不变的poly life, 一瞬间刮起狂风暴雨。hahaa... 有点夸张!Rovers FIGHTING!!

kukup weekend

We presents "The kukup committee 2011" - Except for Miss YYY who couldn't join us at the last min cos her grandma in ICU, linda as well missed this trip due to her dad's health (祝 Both,早日康复!). Bravo to all, who "donated" their precious weekend. Especially, yihui's dad who led the convoy all the way to kukup and walk to and fro the chalet to buy drinks for us 有点忏愧, yihui's mum who also came along regardless of her leg pain. keyong who brought laughter to us... we're a bunch of old sis and brothers and yet he fooled along with us. Jeffery (aka ah kok) he's 19 freshly from US, cause of him we had to revise our version of 猫抓老鼠 into Angmo version and became a huge mess and fun. Shuping who won our top prize! she's so good at guessing and attempting all the games, and super spontaneous attitude... ah hao won our third prize, she sometimes stoning and funny in her own way.. and sleepy yihui who came all the way from sg after her noah arks stuff, can tell that she's super duper tired with the 2 panda eye ring across the face, and yet she still joined us in kukup. :)  weekiat also joined us mid day due to project briefing, he's the wise voice in the committee, he usually give the final green light for the games suggestion (most of jx's games went into archival for "future" use) ... hahha old man mah must respect. xuejun - she was so dejected when we cancelled our trip a few years back. She's sooooo looking forward to kukup and we finally made it to kukup!! all thanks to kwanlin's idea for most of the game that keep us entertained throughout the trip. Junxiong...well.. we will have to thank him for clearing up all our plates and lights up the fireworks for us! and driving us there...
thanks everyone for making it a memorable weekend at kukup...

housekeeping...

i was packing & cleaning my cupboard just now and happened to dig up my collections - a few old diary and a karma sutra. birthday present from my fellow colleagues.(gift from India, sweet sweet thoughts but morally slightly wrong). i wasn't going to blog about karma sutra. flipping through my diary, i saw that my last entry was on 23 June 2006.

我和日记说好了只写开心的事,可是这次例外。我只想记得他,我们的好朋友。

My senior, my friend, my la-teh kaki, ktv kaki - Lionel Lin aka "lion", "abu nana". He left all of us 2 years ago, and even now when all those memories it's still fresh in my mind. How can i forget those days we spent in rovers-- BTC, RTT, RSS, training, pt and tekan-ing.. i spent more time in rovers than at home, the only off day is Sunday. Occasionally, we even meet on Sunday for KTV. omg! it's all time spent together + memories bond us together. Lionel is that kind of typical 好男人, nice, easy-going, boy next door, makes me thinks that 哇噻..世界上还有好人.. And he's super fit like superman, during PT he always wear sibey hot short with justin. when they do stretching will 走光 sia.. every time we make racist jokes, he sure kana!! cos he's extremely dark but with nice set of dazzling white teeth. they even got him an Indian name bahahaaa.. Grim Reaper took him away that day, cos he's such a fine young man who's full of life. From that day on, he multiplies and stays in all our hearts. I still remember you singing this hor.. “男人哭吧哭吧不是罪”.. wah lau classic ah!!

Recently been feeling a little hollow -- mid-quarter crisis. after reading through my past thoughts, i'm feeling much better, motivated.

live everyday like it's your last, ya, with little regrets.

sp rovers alumni chalet - 4th october

had a rough day on the day of the bbq, still bother by my client and my project.

tired, exhausted, without sleep for 24 hr i quickly bathe and pack my bag to the chevron chalet. On my way there, jx called me and we meet at IMM to look for some DVD to sing in the chalet, i tried my best to convince him not to buy. thinking that no one will sing if you've mahjong at the chalet, and i was right about it. :) kl keep rushing me back to collect money from them.. Zzzz

i tried the roasting pineapple for the bbq, thinking that it'll be as good as what i did at chye's place. Oh damn, the uncle gave me a super juicy sarawak pineapple, my pineapple sux and in return of that i got a big laugh from them and kana suan big time.

had a great time playing xj's game, i sux at pictionary, but as least did well in taboo... haha.. really glad to see the fun and loving side of rovers. once again, it feels like i'm back to the poly days togather with them. although all of us are already working i think we all have our own good old days in rovers which will not be forgotten and shall stay in all of us for the rest of our life. why i sudden so emo.??! wahaa.. random thought of the day i guess.

i was feeling damn exhausted, no charger at the chalet, phone low battery, no choice but to go home and rest for the night. but, i checked my email when i'm back home that night, and got disgusted by my client. decided to sleep and hopefully ignore it and spend my sunday peacefully.

thanks to my mahjong kakis to make this a successfully event!! u guys rocks and we shall do it again, shall we? :)

meaningful sunday

last Sunday when to Ubin and got sun burnt, when will i learn my lesson to put on Sunblock. Really scare that i will get skin cancer, choy!

all thanks to priscilla, i went to volunteer for campvision as a helper last sunday, it was really fun and i had a different sunday that weekend. meaningful yet tiring. I woke up at 6am and traveled all the way to changi village.

the youth are from the different boys' and girls' home, they are kind of naughty and noisy at first. But i find them well-behave than some of those kids in the classrooms. I believe that when they grow up, they'll have the ability to shape and change other people life too. relating experience on what they've been thru during their teens life, they're more mature and natural leaders.

人本无“好坏”之分,因为人性皆有多面性,只是不同的人在不同的时间和空间里会释放不同的侧面。

sometimes, i just think that we really should find time to do some meaningful things in life. that way, you won't lose yourself in this world.

找回自己, 不想迷失在这大城市里。

An old article... brings back good memorise

An old article...
Poly 50
Singapore Polytechnic's annual campus relay race
Times really flies, last semester was my second year in Polytechnic and also my second time taking part in Poly 50. Tension, heat, the memories of people running in bright and multi-colour singlets and T-shirts, painted faces and loud cheering from supporters around Workshop 5 were still fresh in my mind. This year 2 teams from Rovers took part, namely "B1" led by David and "B2" led by Junxiong.
Before the race, we trained hard during the PT sessions every Tuesday and Thursday, which were specially set aside for this event. Morale and team spirit were high up in the air through out all the trainings; needless to say there were pain and sweat too!
We were even told not to have spicy food a few days before the race and to drink more water to replace the loss of fluid in our body.
On 13th March 2002, a Wednesday afternoon, all of us had to rush down to Den and get changed immediately after lessons. Eagerly, we put on our newly bought poly 50 “asics” running kit that comes in black and bright orange for this particular event. However, we were shocked to see there were 2 other teams that wore the same design as us! Determined to be different from the others, we came up with other ridiculous ideas to distinguish ourselves from other teams. We had tattoos on our arms, green coloured hair for team 1 and pink coloured hair for team 2. “Nicely decorated”, we proceeded to the car park near Workshop 5 for some serious warm up. The atmosphere was tense, teams doing their last minute warm up and taking photographs, preparing to put on their best performance for this coming "Battle".
Jane and I were the first runners for the teams. Standing in front of the starting line, the anxiety and pressure was more than I had expected. When the guest-of-honour was about to siren the start of the race, there were some jostling and pushing among the girls. Once the siren went off, everyone speeded up to the next runner of her team stationed at the end of the car park. I ran as fast as I could, amidst the loud cheering of encouragements and screaming heard along the route. It could be my imagination, but somehow I heard my team of rovers shouting and cheering, which spurred me on to run even faster. The minute I saw Guoyong waving to me ahead, I sped towards him and passed him the card. Even though I had stopped running, my heart kept on beating hard against my chest “Thud! Thud!…” non stop. It only calmed down after a few minutes. Then I felt my calf muscles starting to stiffen; I guessed my muscles felt the tension of the race too. The run continued…
The good weather held on without inconvenient of rain right to the very end.
We finished the "battle", and even though in the midst of the "battle" there were feelings of exhaustion, we never did surrendered to the heat and tiredness. We were ranked 13th and 15th in our category. We did our best, so everybody was contented with the end result. The guest of honour was giving away the prizes to the winning team, and seated down at the concrete ground, we were waiting eagerly for our turn to go up to the stage. At last, when our team was called, our troop flag was waving back and forth enthusiastically, whilst our traditional SP Rovers "adiji yeli" echoed in the atmosphere.
Months of training merely for this memorable day, it was worthwhile in spite of everything. Let our Rovering spirit continue to burn everlastingly…
Rovers, let's do it again!

My Berkelah Trip 2003

.:19th September 2003 11.10pm Kranji Mrt, S'pore :.

My first time to the natural waterfall... (not man-made wor) haha.. so excited!! me packed my 45 plus litre bag full of clothes, water, hammock and FOOD... Meeting the rest 11pm at Kranji Mrt... *hehe*

We aboard the coach at around 11.45pm making our way to Woodland Causeway, got our passport "chop" n headed towards the long journey to kuantan... watching "pirate of the carribean" and "cruel jaw" on the coach... lame show~

.:20th September 2003 6.00am Gurung Berkelah, Kuantan :.

We reached the kopitiam at the foot of berkelah at 6.00am... sianz.. i was about to go to sleep then... It was suggested that we get some drink before we trek uphill... We managed to get a lorry at a price of 5RM per person that drove us all the way to the base camp... song ah~... there was another group with us on the lorry...
We start to trek uphill and we took a rest around half hour time.. and continued our journey.. to everyone surprise, we reached the campsite at 8.30am in the morning... i nearly *faint* most of us thought it would be lunch time when we reached the campsite... i nearly fainted due to the fact that i brought only cup noodle for my dinner.. 2 pear for lunch... *piang*

we play around with the water.. wooo~ it was so cooling n refreshing~ steady ah!@$#%^$% Around 1 plus after we had our lunch some of us decided that we should go and explore the main waterfall (which they say is few storey high!! Cannot Miss ah!!!) We climb up and down crossing a few dangerous n slippery spots... well i was kinda clumsy during the trek.. haha.. tripped n fell few times... but soon i learnt my lesson... taking off my sandal and trek bare-footed, not a very brilliant idea but proven to be more steady... ;D after that my sole grew more "thick-skinned"... :D

Hehe.. we finally reached the main waterfall at around 2 plus... wooh.. the water there was freezing cold... didnt really want to go down due to the strong current i guess... but it was so tempting!! majority of the guys were oredi at the opposite side of the fall... so the rest of the gers followed n swam over at the same time.. hehe.. wrong decision.. the guys got problem getting us out of the water... i gulped down a mouthful of water... hee it wasn't salty, must be spring water from heaven*** water got into my mouth, nose and eye when i was reaching the bank.. ^&%#$%%

Those guys did some diving stunt near the main waterfall..*splash* one by one take turn to jump in the icy cold water... while we decided to head back after some rest, they found a leech on winston's back... *piangz* for fear that there were other 'bloodsucker' around, some of them hid behind the bushes to have their overall body check-up... :)

On our way back... determine to have some more fun at the rest of the small waterfall... mark be the first guinea pig to jump at a few metre high cliff... followed one by one jumping off the cliff.. too bad yenpeng , willy n ramneek couldnt join us in the 'jetty jump'... Well most of us did try at least twice... my jump was a 'painful' experience... hai~ We had lotsa fun on our way back...

Soon the sky start turning cloudy n DARK.. the minute we reached our campsite, raindrops falling... woo.. so cooling! but so afraid that we might catch a cold in our wet clothing... at around 6+ the sky turned better, we cooked our dinner... we had maggi mee, cheese pasta, curry, fried chicken wing and the soup of the day - Scallop + Abalone's friends (bao bei)... well it taste weird but nice lah.. first time i eat such a sumptuous meal on top of the mount... muahahaa.. must thanks those fit alumni... bringing chicken wings + 2 litre of oil all the way up here... and lotsa more.. There's alot of leftover n dishes to wash , so they came up with an idea... "Ultimate Number"- "zong ji mi ma"... We finished up all the chicken wings and left all the messtin to wilson... haha..

nightfall the minute we started to clear up... some of the girls went to wash up in the icy water... there was some pervert there hiding their video cam near the bushes.. dunno wat the h*** they shooting... soon is bathing time for the rest of the guys, they behaved like kids in the water... laughing and splashing away.. haha so cute...

we setup a mini campfire... telling lame joke n story... as the night get darker, most of them went into the warm n cosy tent for rest... well i cant really sleep well outside.. thus a few of us opened up a few canned of cocktail n lychee for supper.. haha... later in the night, we went to catch prawn, i managed to catch 1 toopid prawn...steady bor...the sky at berkelah was full of star.. FULL of.. so STARRY!!! hope i could captured it on camera... too bad...

.:21th September 2003 6.00am Gurung Berkelah, Kuantan :.

The next morning, we woke up and cooked our breakfast... eat eat eat n do some clearing up... pack up our stuff n unpegged our tents... the weather was kinda warm that morning, so the guys took off their shirt n went in to the river for a final dip of the *heavenly* cool water... bo liao till they started playing base ball using the cooking pot.. silly! haha... we had some fun before we trek down hill... hehe... abit "se bu de" of the times we spent at the campsite... haha...

we aboard the coach at around 1pm and head for a suitable chinese restaurant for lunch.. it was around 5plus that we finally found a chinese restaurant... Well i guess all of them were too hungry, we finished up all the rice in the restaurant... the last table didnt managed to have extra serving of rice...poor thing.. haha.. after dinner, some of us when to the nearby shop and bought some ice-cream and TOYs... Yenpeng bought a packet of sour plum.. well should say SALTY plum... well.. that how we started our "sour plum game"

after the meal, we were only a few hour away from singapore... we played the same LAME game "zhong ji mi ma"... poor david and ronald... they ate up almost half packet of the "salty" plum... "suan mei ming" <- (sour plum fate) david more jialat... cos he didnt have any choice... kana sabotage by jeremy...

in next to no time we reached the johore causeway... hai~ the thought of going back singapore...sianz wor... still think camping life better.. so simple but yet full of "rubbish"... :D looking forward to the BBQ session on the 18th Oct.... *Smilez*
