We decided to go ahead with the 2days 1 night trek to hutiaoxia via the naxi ppl route. We got this trek info from the mama naxi guesthouse, we tried asking around but none of the travel agent knows what we talking about and keep telling us it's dangerous.. haaa... we went back to mama naxi for this unforgettable trek... truly recommend this trek to those who visit lijiang or shangrila..the trek was really enjoyable and view was stunning~~
We started around 12 noon at qiaotou, the bus ride took around 2.5hours.. we deposited our bags at jane's guesthouse, only 5 rmb per bag. With only our day pack and water we trek towards the naxi guesthouse as the route marker for resting before the 28-turn. We walked for almost 3hrs then finally we reached the naxi guesthouse, we still have 4 hrs before we reached halfway teahouse our target is halfway.. :) on the way we met a lots of trekkers from all over the world, there's a brazilian and sweden lovely couple whom we took the van ride together.. as well as this cute canadian siblings we even bumped onto them in shangrila. Such a coincidence!! The brother damn fit!! Haaa carrying both their belonging and trek up the 28-turns.
Speaking of the 28-turns, it seriously not as bad, but it shouldnt be taken too lightly either. The villagers keep coaxing us to get up to their horse, until the point they stop asking i guess i m pretty near to the top. Its not as bad as namche in nepal i thought, namche is 2 hours of ascending up up and up.
Walking the path of hutiaoxia, the view is magnicient, the snow capped mountains, the greenery, the blue water that runs through the mountains, is like experiencing 4 season in a trek. Love it, feel it, live it. By 6pm, we hit the teahorse guesthouse, well that means we have to do some night trek to halfway, halfway is 2hr plus away, i was very concerned with the night trek, luckily the 4 of us got there safe and sound. The night sky is amazing, the sparkling stars, never get to see that living in the city. I captured that in my mind and gonna keep it with me forever.
We had beer and celebrated with the lovely couple. I had a wonderful dinner full bowl of rice!!! I must say the halfway guesthouse room was pretty decent. There's this kid who is pretty entertaining, cant help but smile at him everytime i look at him.
Next day, We set off slightly later than the rest toward tina guesthouse, reached there at 2pm. We decided to booked a van to shangrila after we trek down the tiger leaping gorge. well in the end my decision of going down the gorge myself seem an act of impulse. But i did balance the pros and cons and it seems like the only options to me.
On my way down the tiger leaping gorge, i asked if this is what i wanted but dragging others along wasn't what i wish therefore it's better that i m off on my own. as i descent deeper into the gorge, i began to regret, slapping myself in the face why do i agreed coming to this trip serve me right going down the gorge by myself. 我化悲愤为力量 哈哈. Every resting stop i came to, the villagers ask are you alone? I nodded and 我的心坠入谷底 haaaa as deep as the tiger leaping gorge. One even volunteered to help me take a picture of me with the gorge since i m all by myself.
I just took a few pic and left the beautiful tiger leaping gorge. Took me almost 2 hrs up and down the gorge, very pretty but very tiring also.
never never let others tell you what's great up or down there, you've to find it out yourself, for that you will feel much greater than ever.
**I wrote the above just to make myself feel better... that day I felt terrible, mentally and phyically challenged.I could have and should have stop my blunt words and cough up with a better reply that could save the day. My unintentional comments hit my friend like a plague, making her felt even worst. That moment I thought I m the most evil person in this tiger leaping gorge, no matter what I say or do I m doomed. And to make matter worst I don't know what came over me perhaps anger. I went running down the tiger leaping gorge alone, leaving my friends behind. I m angry with myself, thinking I have murdered our friendship and kill this trip... and my friends too... haha cos they seems to think that I die die also want to go down, but rovers taught me 1 for all all for 1...we will enjoyed more as a group.. trekking solo down the gorge is like killing me slowly..was a little lost at some point, unlucky a friend caught up and save me from calling 911... After the end of the trek, on the car to shangerila, I just keep my head down and kept quiet for a very very long time...as the night falls and coldness kicks in... tears just kept rolling down my face... I finally gave up fighting and surrendered... I m emotionally drained...(x_x)***
