19 days in nepal...

i almost forgot i need to come back to work in sg...
i switch on my laptop my mouse doesn't work for a second i thought i lost touch with technology...
i have tonnes of drama and tv series waiting for me... i don't know where to start..
i still have 1 more rest day before the crazy monday...
i probably stay up late to do all the laundry and unpacking till sunday...
argghh... coming back to sg seems to give me more headache than staying in the high mountain...

we were so luckily that we managed to trek all the way to EBC... i never thought i might make it, cos i was going really slow... any slower would be like a tortoise.. but it's really worth all the dust and the long journey up there... the view up in the mountains are so surreal, calming and magnificent at the same time... it's hard to drag myself back to SG... 

in this19 days in nepal, there's lot of first time...
first time after going up slope for hours and glad that it's finally over.. namche!!!
first time see snow flakes in tengboche...
first time didn't shower for 4 consecutive days...
first time wake up 4am in the day and sleep as early as 8pm in the night...
first time trek on snow...
first time lost terribly Dai2 to an Ang mo and my friend...(i was pretty well-trained since young) 
first time paragliding in pokahra
first time close encounter with so many yaks yaks yaks..
first time eat dal baht and love it...
first time chit chat for over 6 hours with a stranger we just met that day at the tea house. (ryan from canada, he's so chatty, funny and friendly, but he's into serious business... doing and spreading good deeds and love to the other people.. hmm admirable..) *i think maple leaf is calling, Canada please wait for me*
first time bought a roll of toilet paper at SGD 4 dollars!!
first time drink water with lots of plastic and funny looking alien particles inside...
first time to a snow capped mountain...

there's so much so much to enjoy and to feel about for this nepal trip... i wonder if it's possible for me to go next year... again... namaste nepal.. :) once it's never enough..

top chef all star - ahhhhh

damn... dale talde went home tonight on top chef... ahhhh i really thought he can win this season.. .damn!!

super disappointed with this season... i was rooting for him to the finale for this all star season, can really feel his change of behaviour compare to season 4.. much more matured and well composure, i even find him humorous in several occasion during the inter... i like the way he thinks and act in top chef.. always focus on making his dishes and compete. less words. i guess i just like hardworking chef like him who are less talkative. He's not as angry as before but still super uber fast at executing his dishes and running all over the place.. gonna miss his action in the top chef kitchen.. ahhhhh....

i was so excited and happy for him for the past few week, he won many elimination challenges as well as $$... but all these like he say can't even trade for a place in the final... can really felt his heart and determination in winning this top chef... :) pray for him to make a comeback in all star "redemption"... haa

amazing race 18 - "unfinished business"

yeah~~ it's back again for the 18 season... breezy start at San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm one of the windiest place in California. Such a wonderful setting for the start of the race...

so glad that Gary and Mallory (father and daughter) are back once again... i super duper love them on TAR 17. so sad to see them eliminated from season 17, this is their 2nd chance... yippee! They are my hot favourite team and they are uber lucky.. love the dad so fit and calm... mallory is so cheerful and cute.. yesterday, they are one of the last 3 team to deliver the clue to Phil which put them onto the 2nd flight list, and due to a passenger having heart attack on the 1st flight. The 8 team who are on the 1st flight ended up as the last flight to arrive in Sydney. And, there goes the 90 minutes lead... anything can happen on amazing race, and it's out of their control... that's the cool thing about reality show... makes me crazy all the time watching them racing around the world. 

at the midpoint of the 1st leg, gary and mallory came in 1st, got their "fast forward" gift from Phil and continue the race again... non resting pit stop... so exciting...

hehe... as Phil was saying at the start of the race... "good luck, the world is waiting for u..."  and me too... i want it so badly...

I'm slightly worried about the trek to EBC, haven't been actively running and exercising. Really want to enjoy the trek and the view, rather than struggling during the climb. Have to start tomorrow morning, running and yoga. getting stressed out by the training and my health condition. ahhhhhhh.... help me.......

amazing race gary and mallory

impressed by her dad... oh my god, he's so fit at 53.... :) bravo for the vegetarian doc that finished the meat for fast forward... that's so crazy for someone who hasn't taste meat for 20 years!!!! Very considerate for kevin to take his dad on the boat detour.... oh my god, so excited for them.. i hope the son + dad and daughter + dad make it till the last 3 team... they're just so nice ppl in the race... not forgetting the insane pink duo... fighting!!

it's so hard to see him left the stage, though i dun know why all designer dislike him so much. anyway it's a competition.

This season was so emotional i felt, at the last few episode, when the designer was making their own print based on their personal story/inspiration. Mondo shared his deepest secret in-front of the mass tv audience, wondering where he has all the courage. Really admire him for that, bravo!

I thought mondo was really special at the beginning of the season -- quiet, soft spoken, quirky-dressed. Always hidding from the camera and doesn't talk unless requires... secretly and slowly... he blown you away with his colourful clothing design. I really would like to see him win actually, he does really stand out from the rest of the contestant. well, he's like a little man living in Tim burton's movies like alice in wonderland or willy wonka. For all of us, life is not like a box of candy.

the last 3 finalist are mondo, gretchen and andy... looks like these 3 finalist went through a lot to get to realising their dreams and to show their collections. Really looking forward to next week finale, haiz, no more project runway on Friday after that.

Watching Capt Phil Harris on Deadliest Catch was unbearable

Even though i know that Captain Phil passed away this year February, I still want to catch him on deadliest catch, fishing his last season on Bering sea. After he suffered from the massive stroke, deadliest catch still featured his footage in the hospital. Watching the latest episode of him leaving the world is unbearable, Silly me, I was still hoping he will get better. 


silly silly, cos it's the real person on the show for the past 6 season. I feel like i know them while they're out in the sea.. and that's why touches me so much and i really love watching deadliest catch. 


Now, it's so hard to watch deadliest catch, knowing that Capt Phil is gone....

Eating durian while watching England vs Germany

I almost swallowed the whole durian when lampard goal wasn't counted. Damn!!! I knew England wasn't the best team around the whole cup but thought maybe they could get lucky today winning or draw Germany. afterall unexpected things happened in this year world cup, look at italy. Didn't expect it to be a 4-1 defeat... oh my god, no more england team...

早前ah fang 妈妈生病了，希望他吉人天相。好人有好报。。。平平安安的回家休息养好身体，大家可以皆大欢喜。Went to visit her mum at SGH, so glad that her condition stabilise and recovering well.

我知道要珍惜身边人，可是人总是笨笨的， 为什么人总是失去后才懂得珍惜？又或者后悔莫及。
我虽然懂，但也没什么行动。

我的老爸每个拜六礼拜都帮我们买早餐吃，晚餐下厨或打包。好惭愧啊！都这么大的人，还要老爸喂。小时候他都带我和哥哥和姐姐一起去吃早餐，长大了点，有了翅膀每个周末都睡到下午，爸爸也看开了见怪不怪，有时我早餐当午餐吃。渐渐的他也变聪明了， 只买午餐。哈哈!

老妈自从两年前没做工在家照顾臭翔翔后，我也变懒了。我几乎不扫地也不洗地，有时只洗洗自己的衣和收拾房间。老妈又超爱干净的， 每天洗地扫地。谁受得了啊。。。他有时手痛脚痛又爱骂人，少洗一天又不会少一块肉肉。

老爸和老妈每天有翔翔陪伴应该足够了吧，我这个长了翅膀的猪偶尔陪他们去云顶走走就好了。他们开心我也开心。hehe...

he's was my favourite captain on deadliest catch on cornelia marie, his 2 kids are always driving him mad... DC still feature him and his crew on this season 6. I've been waiting for DC6 to release for so long and i didn't even know Phil died on 9th Febuary this year. silly me....

a feeling of sadness reaches me as i watched the latest season of deadliest catch, makes me wanna cry that this will be phil last season on deadliest catch. i still hope he had a great time this season, filling his boat with full pot of king crabs...

How to Train My Dragon

I simply loved this movie, it's been so long since i watched movies that are worth watching. Stunning visuals and well-told story to keep my eye wide open through this movie. this is actually one of the best work from dreamworks!!

the black, cute little dragon was named "toothless", reminds me of my cousin call me "bo gay" when i was little and i lost one of my front tooth... ;(

Maison Ikkoku 相聚一刻

I just happen to surf on anime and saw maison ikkoku, i like this anime/comic a lot. watch this when i was small. another lomantic one would be "Orange Road", siblings with supernatural power. hahaa... In the 80s, they usually screen it at midnight. The author of maison ikkoku is also the writer of ranma1/2... i really miss all these tastefully simple anime... How much have i changed in these years? when i was young watching all these favourite anime 对我而言是幸福的。人长大了，这种简单不知道丢哪了？

所以啦，其实幸福很简单。。。也让我快点找到那份简单。。。

eat nasi lemak at changi hospital

Woke up really early on Sunday to attend ah hao's wedding at Ah yat, opposite Jurong Bird Park, was hoping to see some exotic birds there hehe. :) Ah hao and patrick finally got married, and the pastor also shared with us a short meaning note on how to maintain marriage. For me, for most vow the part where they had to promised to love and stay with each other no matter in sickness, worse or death.... keeps me wondering how many of us can actually do that. It's like a huge thing to me, how can i ever promise or believe someone without actually know that i can really do it. so probably when the day comes, i will know lah...

Later that day,  i clean up the house since my family went to genting. vacuum and mop the floor so that when my little naughty nephew can have a clean, sparkling floor to walk when he comes later that night. After that, xj and jx jio for MJ and we start our game around evening , halfway thconsidered that very early for MJ. About halfway through the game jx got a call from his brother, he broke his arm at pasir ris chalet during a soccer match. jx is still ask him to take cab home from changi cos he's in the middle of the game with us. We told him how could you let your brother take cab from changi with a broken arm. "we can grab our dinner along the way" i guess jx finds it hard to actually want us to stop the game, so we manage to convince him.  we went down to pick up ah chuan. In the end, he's still in A&E, diagnosis and xray took damn long. Therefore we end up eating nasi lemak at Changi hospital @ Qiji, so so lah. :) By the time ah chuan came out from the A&E it was already 10.30pm with a broken arm. Omg, we went back and finished up where we left.... such a long sunday...

Hipstermatic whore

Having fun experimenting with hipstermatic on iphone. I can totally throw away my holga... camwhore for quite a few takes.. hehe.. fun.. cos it makes the complexion really blur.. haha.. 

Monday Blue? not really.... with yoga and popcorn

yesterday after our sunday mahjong session, mj kakis keep saying want to go movie lah, want to go eat after work lah... i told them i got yoga lesson maybe after that bah... to my surprise they wanted to join me at hot yoga... lol... so i quickly booked 3 slots for them haha...

therefore today, i was really looking forward to see them at yoga lesson... haha.. so funny... they really came for the 1 week free trial. All of them admit it was really sweating like mad and hot in there... we left the yoga place after the 1 hr hot yoga and head to watch alice in wonderland at kallang. Things are getting interesting, XXX was like a dead shopping center during weekday, so we bought our tickets without discount and head towards the popcorn counter. KL was saying let's get a salted and sweet popcorn each, as he was pretty loud the staff heard him. At that moment, the staff was getting ready to throw the leftover popcorn into the garbage bag. KL and JX being the super thick-skinned kind, keep psycho-ing the staff.

"how about we throw away the popcorn for you"...
"Anyway since you're throwing why dun give it to us free"...
"how bout we pay for 2 drinks and get the popcorn for free"...

in the end, the staff was really kind to give us 2 free popcorn. And, being the typical singaporean. After we got our freebies, JX super cheeky and asked how about the 2 boxes of nachos behind, you gonna throw it right? i dun think he really wants the nachos, he just trying to be funny. Crazy ah, how to finish 2 big popcorn, wah lau eh still want nachos!!!

In the end, we got our popcorn and watch the movie. After all the hard work we put in at yoga, all of us were really hungry after the movie. We went to geylang G7 to eat frog leg porridge... i guess that's why i hardly lose weight after all these yoga session.

So fun tonight, it's been awhile since the 4 of us got together and play till so late on Monday night. and, this year we still need to organise another alumni chalet session for MJ tournament... Let's do it again!

Growing up

I'm already 26(27) this year, that's life and how time keeps slipping pass you and never comes back. a feeling of nostalgia get in to me after meeting up with a bunch of primary school classmates. No matter what we won't be able to go back to the good old days.

i wonder what my brain was thinking or doing when i'm a 12 years old girl. ahh ha... probably cute boy and food.. muahaaa...it's funny how we look back and luff about silly things and events that happened. I guess that's what we will do when we grow old, i'll sitting on my automated rock-a-grandma chair surfing my old memories on an apple ipad. sibey hi-tech cool granny.

old memories we talk about are keeping tadpole and spiders, BCG jab, flashing our NRIC photo with our primary 6 faces, teachers hitting student with ruler, throwing chalk and canning are perfectly common during our generation. if you ever complain to your parent, you're practically throwing yourself into the fire. most of us changed, becoming wiser as we aged. Even the joker of the class, he turned out to be very well behaved.

当年少时的"友情"加上"回忆"，和"今天"相聚在一起，是一种非常奇妙的东西。。。

MADNESS

Went to the kate spade sale with my colleague, super long queue that day (MMS image courtesy from alice). All i can say what happened that day was MADNESS... In the midst of the madness, seriously dunno what got in to me that day, I actually got 2 bags out from the sale. heart pain sia.. haha.. but nvm new year coming... time to count ang bao $$ again.

For awhile i was thinking to get those plain longchamp bag.. and lucky didn't buy cos i dun really like the plain colours ones, and recently this design caught my eye.. heee.. looks slightly navy-ish and i think would be good for my mum also, can share share. hehe... dunno if i still can get it in store... hmmmm...

i want this after new year... hehe...

Okuribito - the gift of last memories

Just watched departures aka okuribito, i've heard some good review on the movie. And finally, got a weekend break to watch this long overdue movie. an Asian movie filled with death and corpse but it's not horror flick :)

He sold his cello and ended his musical career, going back to his old hometown hope to carve out a niche for himself. By responding to a job ad which misprint as a travel job, he got hired as an embalmer by accident. We do know such profession, but we have negative thought to it. this film brings the profession out in such gracefulness. They handle such a unusual topic with such reserved and beautiful manner.

there's a part of the story that mentioned about giving a stone to represent your feeling. :) haha I once received a little round stone from a friend. he pick up while he went hiking for awhile. Nothing valuable, but it touches my heart. At that point, i dun think his intention was to represent his feeling. It's just something he stumble upon while trekking and thought it's rather cute in that treacherous forest. How funny it's to find similar movie element in your daily life...

Btw, quite surprise to find Ryoko Hirosue 広末涼子 in this movie. i like her in beach boys... summmer snow.. shotgun marriage... awwwww..

seldom will i appreciate such movies... those kind that i think it's too artistic that i immediately switch off....but i like this movie, shot in a very clever way, featuring romantic in a different light.
featuring nice soundtracks and 60s trends...sibey vintage...

Tom is a romantic who believes in true love...

Hahaaa... hmmm.... does true love exists? and when will i meet my next summer?

and, i've got to admit, i love cute boy... tom is cute... awwww..

五指山、天涯海角、南山海上观音

I was looking up some project reference for 海南岛, and saw these 3 places popping up as i searches for photos and reference... makes me want to go there for holiday...

imagine going to 天涯海角... can shout something like what they always did in the movie

and 南海观音 must be as big as the statue of liberty...

was it 悟空 being trapped under the 五指山... if i'm there, i might turn into 猪八戒.. haha... with such fairy-tale like scenic surrounding...

this drama is really touching and remind me of Jimmy lin "放羊的星星", this is much better. very nicely capture love scene and beautifully crafted story. For the first few episode, it's so sad that you probably need a whole box of tissue box (i use towel). This show doesn't have a lot of advertising, they hardly appear in any talkshow or entertainment news. But still good show will eventually get noticed :)
In this show, i like 吳建豪, he looks so much better with his clean cut boyish looking hair. Charming and cute, i always thought he looks very gay in the past idol drama. And, with 安以轩 it was such a refreshing couple. hehe.. it's a female director, i guess perhaps that's why the love scene was so touching and very well captured.
Just add this song to my playlist...

my sweet 18th birthday!

yesterday was my sweet 18th... hurhur... came back from genting empty handed - 所谓两手空空.
but was pretty fun, they so sweet still buy cake for me at genting... but con my mahjong $$ before that.

moi brought my polariod to work and got to hug a $500++ worth of astro boy. woooo.. didn't know my colleagues are avid toy collector... Got this polariod and hardly use it at all, too lazy to bring around -- so bulky.
Anyway, i is so happy today la... muahaaa... i wanna bring him home and make him mine...
i wish i have a whole cabinet full of my favourite toy also... but toy collector need $$$... i no money... so i go hug and play with people's toy... hiak hiak hiak..
so late already, can't think...zzZzz.. btw i miss daxiong today or should i say i miss MJ today.. counting down to days he come back from aussie and we can play MJ again... *sob*
